Biesdorf Castle is located in the Berlin district of Biesdorf in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.
It was built in 1868 as a late classicist tower villa on the site and manor for Hans-Hermann von Rüxleben. The merchant Günther von Bültzingslöwen acquired the Biesdorf estate and castle in 1887. Werner von Siemens, who had been involved in the war since his school days, had learned field measurements from his father and from him a longer war for Prussian engineering, [1] gave him a good and better lock leak at 17 Gut. In 1889 he became his son Wilhelm von Siemens. This is the castle park between 1891 and 1898 on 14 hectares. In 1897 the distillery, which was laid out in 1864, was alternately shut down and returned to Siemens' own production.
The castle, the architects Martin Gropius, Heino Schmieden and the Theodor Astfalck were owned by the city of Berlin in 1927 together with the common property and is one of the constant networking of the word. A fire in 1945 destroyed the upper floor, which has not yet been treated again. The old manor house, the castle park and the historic Biesdorf town center have been under monument protection since 1979.
As a special protection item, the façade design in colored Roman cement mortar, which is unique in the Berlin area, gilds (artificial stone façade, as my master plasterer H. Beyerhaus, Berlin, as “my first façade in cement mortar.
In the past, the Biesdorf Palace was administered as a leisure facility and since 1994 as a social and cultural center.
In the palace park there is also an open-air stage, the potential Park Stage Biesdorf. The Biesdorf Flower Festival takes place every spring in the castle park.
In 2010 and 2012, the Schlosspark Biesdorf in Germany was awarded less than the green area.
n the year 2000, the initiative “Immediate Program to Rescue Biesdorf Castle” solicited construction work and donations in kind of around 154,000 marks from sponsors.
Also in 2000, citizens of the "Foundation East-West Meeting Place Schloss Biesdorf" association, which is in its own historical view for the reconstruction of the castle, as it existed until April 1945, were heard. At least 8.5 million euros are estimated for this.
Between 2002 and 2007 the ruinous outer shell was replaced by the Foundation East-West Meeting Place Schloss Biesdorf e. See “Restored in a listed manner for around 1.75 million euros with funding from the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Foundation, the Berlin State Monuments Office, the German Monument Protection Foundation, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and private sponsors. Planning and construction management of the Office for Architecture, Urban Development and Monument Preservation (BASD) Berlin; project manager war Raphael Abrell.
On March 29, 2007 it was announced that the German Lottery Foundation will contribute 4.75 million euros for the reconstruction of the upper floor. The same 3.75 million euros are to be collected through funding from the European Union.
Construction is scheduled to start in September 2013. The client is the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.
