The Gutierrez Forest has a total of 36,000 m², sheltering a permanent preservation area with 18,000 m² and a 6590 m² square. But what attracts attention in the Forest is the memorial to the ecologist Chico Mendes, assassinated in December of 1988. Recalling his fight for the preservation of the Amazon forest, the replica of the letter sent by him to the Judge of Xapuri in Acre was engraved in stone, denouncing that he was threatened with death. Such a card is permanently enveloped by a curtain of mineral water, which is born in the Forest.
