The Museum of the City of Buenos Aires was created in 1968. It is currently installed in a complex composed of buildings belonging to different periods, located in the neighborhood of Monserrat (formerly Cathedral South).
It is part of the Historic Center of the City; Among its activities is the organization in Plaza Dorrego (Humberto I and Defensa, in the neighborhood of San Telmo) of the Fair of San Pedro Telmo. In the Plazoleta San Francisco, Alsina and Defensa, the Arts Fair takes place on Fridays and Sundays, from 10am to 5pm. And it organizes temporary fairs, such as the Old Books, April, Metals and Clothing fairs.
On the ground floor of the Museum is the Pharmacy La Estrella, which preserves its original furniture and decoration.
The Museum's mission is to compile the history of the city of Buenos Aires, its inhabitants, its uses and customs, its architecture and the experiences of the residents of Buenos Aires and those who passed through Buenos Aires.
Days and Times: from Monday to Sunday and holidays from 11 am to 7 pm.
