This landscape was generated in the Quaternary period, about 25 million years ago. The particularity of this dune field is that it is made up of old dunes "hanging" on marine terraces that are separated by a rocky cliff.
In their geological aspect, they are considered a unique site because climatic, petrographic, hydrographic, topographic, oceanic and phytogeographic factors participated in their formation that are irreproducible today.
It is located at the southern tip of Concón in Viña del Mar.

By bus:
From the San Borja Terminal in Santiago located at San Borja Nº 235, in the Central Station Metro. In addition to the Central Station Bus Terminal located at Alameda Nº 3850, Metro Universidad de Santiago.
By car:
One of the options to get to Viña del Mar is through Route 68, you enter Valparaíso and follow the correct signs to get to Viña. The Viña - Valparaíso Highway is 5.5 km long and begins in Caleta Abarca.
There is also a direct route to Viña del Mar from Route 68 towards Variante Agua Santa or Route 66, to travel a beautiful path with views of the Bay of Valparaíso and the beaches of Viña del Mar.
The dunes stand out for their imposing sandy areas of great scientific, educational, cultural and sports value.
A nature sanctuary that was created millions of years ago, a unique site that tells us about the past of the Chilean coastline.
Such is the importance of the Concón dune field that on August 5, 1993 it was declared a Nature Sanctuary.
