18 km from Pucón is the Cuevas Volcánicas tourist, scientific and ecological park. It is located on the northern slope of the Villarrica Volcano (Ruka Pillán).

The Lava Tunnel, Known by the name of Volcanic Caves, you can discover there, in its colossal vaults, the different types of lava and minerals that are underground. You can also visit an eruptive fumarole simulator.

The walk through the caves takes approximately 45 to 50 minutes round trip. The terrain is irregular and has several access stairs, somewhat difficult for the elderly or children, for which special care is recommended.



Visitors are given helmets that will serve to avoid collisions with some of the sharp stalactite points found along the way.

They are located 12 km. from Pucón on the way to the Villarrica Volcano. Walk in which you can descend several meters to the center of the earth. It is reached from the city of Pucón in the direction of Villarrica, it must travel approximately 1.5 km. up to the detour on the left that leads to the Villarrica Volcano Ski Center. You travel along a 9 km gravel road. until you reach the entrance of the National Park, where later the path separates and leads to the Volcanic Caves.





Here you can visit the Casa de los Volcanes, where you will find an exhibition of photos and objects related to the why, how and when of volcanic eruptions.



From the suspension bridge you will see the Cañadón and the beginning of our Native Forest. Do not miss this opportunity to learn the history of the majestic volcano.
