The construction of a medieval castle in the city of Recife seems to be enough to draw the attention of those passing by the Várzea neighborhood. But who is impressed with the construction is even more dazzled when entering the environment, where is located the Ricardo Brennand Institute.
The institute, named after its owner, houses a large arsenal of medieval weapons and armor, and a large art gallery opened in September this year with the exhibition of the works of Dutch painter Albert Eckhout, who came to Brazil during the century. 17 portray landscapes and everyday life. The site also has a library composed of rare works that belonged to the historian José Antônio Gonçalves de Mello and the writer Édson Nery da Fonseca.
Hours: Tuesday to Sunday (13h to 17h), Wednesday (9h to 17h)
