The area is drenched in history and Rhayader itself dates back to the 5th Century.
The region is rich in natural beauty, with the lakes of the Elan Valley to the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park to the south, Nannerth Falls in the north and the green and pleasant lands of Shropshire and Herefordshire to the east. The River Wye gently winds its way through quaint villages and magnificent countryside.
As an important market town, Rhayader is also within easy reach of many towns including Aberystwyth, Abergavenny, Llanidloes, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, and Welshpool. The hotel can arrange horse riding, cycling, fly-fishing, clay pigeon shooting and guided walks during your stay. As well as a large car park, with free parking for guests, the hotel also offers a lock-up barn for bicycles.
