The written history of Sardinata begins in 1948 when a group of settlers from Salazar de las Palmas made their way through the jungle and camped on the La Chocona and San José streams, today the estates of the San Pablo farm.
Two years later, the settlers are attacked by an epidemic of yellow fever, a fact that sets them back in their place of origin.
In 1874, Eugenio Rojas, Francisco Méndez, Pantaleón Ortiz and Abelardo Madariaga reappear in Sardinata from Salazar de Las Palmas. They were attracted by the fertility of the lands and the charm that was known. They were located in what is called Las Juntas or the junction of the Rio Grande and Rio Chiquito, whose convergence gives rise to the Sardinata River.
They were magnificent sawyers and made settlements in what is now the Táchira farm. These settlers established in the junta felt very comfortable in their new lands, until the earthquake of 1875 frightened them and made them return in terror to their hometown.
In mid-1876, Father Secundino Jácome appeared in these lands, which has motivated him to be named as the founder of Sardinata, a light and inaccurate approach, since this fact is due to the aforementioned settlers, since the foundation was first made or grouping of fiefdoms and on this, the political and religious organization.
