Collaven Manor is in the North West of Dartmoor. Built of granite and covered in creeper plant, the manor has a traditional English feel. Enjoy flowerbeds, birdsong and spacious lawns where you can play bowls, croquet or enjoy Afternoon Tea.
An intimate bar-lounge offers winter log fires or cool summer shelter, while the Hamilton Restaurant serves the best of local and home-grown ingredients. The restaurant is open for evening food on most evenings, but to guarantee a reservation, it is recommended guests reserve a table in advance. A locally sourced menu is served where possible, including some home grown produce.
The bedrooms at Collaven Manor are full of character, with wood-beamed ceilings and spectacular views over Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside. You can even choose a room with a luxury four-poster bed. Close by there are several fine 18-hole golf courses.
Pony trekking and riding on Dartmoor can be arranged, as well as fishing.
Horse racing at Newton Abbot, Devon and Exeter is just 40 minutes away. Collaven Manor was once owned by the famous Hamilton family. It is said to be linked to Lady Hamilton, who was mistress to Lord Nelson in the late 18th century.
