This family-run hotel is situated in the community town of Rettenbach, only 3 km from the climatic spa of St. Englmar and is peacefully situated on the edge of a forest. Here guests will find a warm atmosphere and friendly hospitality.
All rooms and guestrooms are furnished individually and feature SKY TV. In the summer months guests can enjoy the swimming pool as well as many sporting activities. There is also a sun-bathing lawn, in the sauna or in the Roman steam bath.
In the surrrounding area are ski lifts, ski slopes, toboggan runs and snow parks belonging to the ski resort of St. Englmar. There are also 50 km of winter hiking trails available to explore. The Rundwanderweg No. 5 (approximately 10 km long) runs right by the hotel. In the summer guests can expect 125 km of well-marked hiking trails, as the hotel is situated in the middle of the hiking network of the St. Englmar resort. St. Englmar is situated on the outskirts of the Bavarian Forest, approximately 35 km from the district towns of Straubing and Deggendorf and 70 k from Passau and Regensburg.
As well as the magical winter sport and winter hiking options in the area, mountain bikers, Nordic walkers and nature lovers will also fall in love with the surroundings. Families and active people of all ages visiting this destination have a whole host of activities to try - take your pick, be it sport, leisure or culture.
The surrounding area is filled with interesting day trip destinations, for example, visit the glass-making villages of Bodenmais, Arnbruck and Zwiesel, the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest - the Arber, Tittling Farming Village Museum, Lohberg animal park, the "Bayernpark" or the nearby towns of Straubing, Passau and Regensburg.
Make use of our hotel as the perfectly situated base from which to visit all the sights in the Bavarian Forest. This hotel is the perfect holiday destination at all times of year.
In the summer there is a swimming pool, a beach volleyball court, outside table tennis, several asphalt curling alleys and a large childrens' playground.
Sporty guests can get fit in our gym room. After an eventful day of hiking, swimming, cycling, horse riding, tennis, bowling, tobogganing and sight-seeing, relax and unwind in our cosy hotel. Sprawl out on our sun-bathing lawn or have a rest in our sauna or Roman steam bath.
Our 3 star country guesthouse is the ideal base for beatiful hikes. The trail Rundwanderweg No. 5 (10 km long) is right on our doorstep and joins up to the hiking network of the St. Englmar resort, which has 125 km of well-marked tracks littered with quaint snack cafes, magical viewpoints, unspoilt nature and filled with our clean and crisp mountain air.
Since September 2005 we have held the certification "Quality Hiking Accommodation in Germany" and so are especially equipped to provide for the needs and demands of hikers.
