In Ucupe we will visit an impressive polychrome mural, which originally decorated the front of a huaca. The clay mural depicts twelve characters wearing feather headdresses, decorated clothing and false wings from the classic Lambayeque period, 8th century.
The Lord of Úcupe was a character who ran the government in the Úcupe area, where the state of conservation of all the funerary equipment is extraordinary. Even the authorities in the area affirm that it is better preserved than the Lord of Sipán. Currently more resistant covers are being prepared to protect the archaeological monuments of the area against eventual rains that can cause damage or affect them.
