Its vegetation is of a shrub type, in the form of rebellious, thorny and xerophilous shrubs. The fauna is undoubtedly an attractive characteristic composed of Patagonian keu, cauquenes, loicas, caranchos, shocks, bandurrias and eagles that live in the steppe; and cormorants (rock, gray and imperial), Antarctic pigeons, plovers, terns, herons, oystercatchers and penguins on the coast.



The Monte León penguin is made up of 75,000 reports that will begin the first days of the season to complete their reproductive cycle and retire in April. Meanwhile, at the Lion's Head bonfire a growing community of sea lions can be seen every year. The access road to the coast is open from November to the end of April. The Monte León National Park is located southeast of the province of Santa Cruz. The Administrative Center is located at Km. 2,385 of RN 3.

The poorest localities are Comandante Luis Piedra Buena -at 32Km-, Puerto Santa Cruz -a 50Km- and Río Gallegos -a 200Km-.

There is no charge for access to the park. The tickets are signed with an institutional and road sign.





Created in 2004, it responds to the fundamental reason to protect the Argentine sea and the Patagonian steppe.
