Founded in 1926, the Larco Museum exhibits chronologically impressive galleries that showcase an exceptional 3000-year development of the history of pre-Columbian Peru.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it is located in a unique colonial mansion dating back to the 18th century, which in turn was built on a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid.
It features the best collection of gold and silver from ancient Peru, as well as the famous collection of erotic art, one of Peru's most visited tourist attractions.
The Larco Museum is one of the few museums in the world where visitors can visit its reservoir and enjoy the 45,000 correctly classified archaeological objects, which is an unforgettable experience.
The Larco Museum's artworks have been exhibited in the world's most prestigious museums and are considered icons of pre-Columbian art around the world.
