The most valuable piece is the altar-altarpiece of the old Matrix, a rescuing of the baroque past of the city. In the Museum there is also a space reserved for temporary exhibitions. Before being transferred to the present building, he occupied the premises of the Minor Seminary of the Archdiocese, located on the Rodovia do Café.
