Theodosia or Theodosia was an ancient Greek city of Chersonesus Tauric. It was a colony of milesias from the 6th century BC. It stands out for its fertile agricultural lands, on which its trade depended, and it had a port with capacity for six boats. The natives called her Ardabda, who may want to decide "seven gods".
It was during an active commercial center that it went into decline in the 2nd century, but it still existed. It was destroyed by the Huns in the 4th century.
I have studied at different times under the sphere of influence of the Khazars (excavations have already revealed artifacts dating from the 9th century) and the Byzantine Empire.
In the time of Emperor Constantine VII Porfirogéneta (mid-10th century), this city is not mentioned. It was reduced to a village in the next 900 years.
Like the rest of Crimea, it fell under human rule and was conquered by the Mongols in 1230.
Theodosia the Feodosiya (Ukrainian, Russian, Crimean Tatar, Kefe) is a port, resort and city of Crimea (Ukraine), located on the Black Sea coast. The name is often written as Theodosia and sometimes as Theodosia (according to the ancient Greek translation).
